The key point for the façade design is the search of a variable and changing element to get a double perception of the buildings. The façade becomes neutral when it is closed, almost rational, and links with the straight lines and pure volumes of the nearby hospital. The winding shapes draw the attention for the activity that it is going to take place inside when the façade is opened. This duality comes to fruition with a constructive solution composed of perforated sheets with different lengths that generate warped surfaces while they are being opened. The influence of the sea is shown in the resulting volume of the opened position. The opening and closing of the ground floor locate us on the sea shore, surrounded by a continuous swell. In short, walking along the boulevard becomes a walk by the sea shore. At night, the sieved light that comes through the perforated sheets is perceived like a set of light spots that turn the background into walking underneath a starry sky. | ||||
